Praise
A Vow in Vengeance is a staggeringly good debut novel introducing a hugely talented new voice into the romantasy genre. From the very first line, I was betwitched, and Jaclyn Rodriguez held me captive with her magic all the way to The End.
An addicting, fast-paced, furious romantasy with a refreshing and unique magic system, twists I did not see coming - I could not stop turning the pages deep into the night.
I didn’t think it was possible for me to fall even more in love with Jaclyn Rodriguez’s writing and characters after the first book, but here we are! A Deal in Death is an absolutely epic continuation of Rune and Draven’s story, with stakes that will keep you utterly locked into every page and romance that will have you swooning (and sweating!) A perfect conclusion!
Rodriguez is back again with a tour de force of tense storytelling (I have yet to unclench my jaw); gorgeous dark academia; a unique, vividly drawn magic system; and delicious spice. Five fiery stars!
Intricate, perilous, and impossible to put down, A Deal in Death proves that destiny isn’t written in the stars but forged by the choices we make… this utterly epic romantasy deserves a place alongside the very best in the genre.
A Vow in Vengeance is a beautifully immersive romantasy with a lush world, unforgettable romance, and a hero who completely stole my heart. I'm still thinking about this story long after I finished it.
Jaclyn Rodriguez’s Immortal Desires series is propulsive as it is playful, sparking that same delicious energy that made us read under the covers late into the night when we were young. Through wild antics and wicked romance, Rodriguez tackles themes of power and belonging, treading familiar ground with spectacular twists.
The perfect romantasy - equal parts intoxicating and utterly devourable.
Meet your next fabulous and original read. Banter-filled, slow burn romance, and dark tarot magic? Yes, please. Jaclyn Rodriguez is magic! Prepare to be bespelled!
A fast-paced adventure filled with dark twists and turns; I was tearing through the pages almost faster than I could read them. A Deal in Death is the romantic, dangerous, action-packed conclusion fans of the series deserve. Rune is hot. Draven is hot. And they fight for their love (hotly).
This book broke me and put me back together again. An epic conclusion that’s somehow even better than the first!
A Deal in Death is the kind of finale every fantasy reader hopes for and few authors can deliver. Rodriguez masterfully weaves breathtaking tarot magic, devastating emotion, and impossible choices into a conclusion that never loses sight of its heart. Equal parts epic and intimate, this is a story that reminds us that the greatest battles are often fought for the people we love. Unforgettable from beginning to end. A conclusion that earns every emotion and every page.
A Deal in Death is officially my favorite romantasy read of the year! Rodriguez has the ability to hook you with her immersive storytelling from page one. Her clever world-building, stunning plot twists, and red-hot romantic tension made this book the ultimate page-turner. A half-god shadow daddy, a badass female protagonist, and a fated mate love triangle? Say less.
